Default XP PRO SP2 Hallmark Card Studio Installation Failure - CRC Error

Sierra has been totaly UNresposive to my pleadings through their "Support"
site!!!

Any light you may shed on this problem will be APPRECIATED!

I've been using Hallmark Card Studio 3. I have tried to install my newly
purchased 2005 Deluxe version

At the very end of disk 3 Installation halted (which happens to be the
location of the referenced file) and I was presented with the following
error message:

Component transfer error
Component: Other Projects
File Group: DLX_Other_MRBs
File: D:\Hallmark Card Studio 2005\Program Files\Sierra\Hallmark Card Studio
2005\Data\MRB\CS_OTPR_D_S05.mrb
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check ).

Only option is "OK" which quits the installation. When I look at the folders
created by the installation I find only a single icon file. Otherwise the
folder is empty.

The calendar appears to have installed correctly

I have disabled Norton AV, MS firewall, MS popup killer, uninstalled version
3, and everything else I can think of.

The "dirty/defective disk" possibility is pretty unlikely at this point
although I did wash the disk with no different results. I doubt a dirty disk
would cause the exact problem for all of us.

My systems more than meets the specified criteria.
A common thread among those of us with this particular problem seems to be
XP (Professional in this case) and Service Pack 2.

I have tried to install "2005" on another XP SP2 machine with exactly the
same results

I am located in Texas using a recent CD RW A Sony CRX230E to be specific.

To disable the SP2 warning for running activeX on a CD drive, go to : IE, Tools menu, Options, Advanced Tab, -- scroll down to the
Security area, check the box for, "Allow active content to run on a CD drive on My Computer"
