Limited or no connectivity - need help
I had been using a wireless connection to my Verizon router, and it
was working fine for months. Suddenly the wireless connectivity was lost because the USB/ANTENNA plug in stopped working. I proved this by trying a USB plug in from another machine - I had connectivity just fine on the problem machine. Since I lacked a spare plug in, I removed the bad one and connected the machine to the router with a CAT5 cable, a method I used til last year. Somehow the CAT5 connection now fails - I show a yellow exclamation on the task bar icon and it says I have 'limited or no connectivity'. In desperation I reinstalled a fresh copy of XP SP3 to start over from scratch. I still have the same problem somehow, which surprises me because it is virgin installation of a new XP OS. What on earth have I done? XieXie Wei |

Do you have an IP address on the correct subnet? What does 'ipconfig /all' show? Not an exhaustive list above, just a few things to get you started. Embarrassingly I have to report that the cable was bad. :( XieXie Wei |
