Default Windows Easy Transfer?

Anyone using this?

I thought I might next week when I go from XP to W7. I thought to
1) Install W7 on a fresh drive, and install WET thereon
2) connect my old XP drive in same machine (as opposed to going
machinetomachine)
3) connect the old XP drive and run WET to do the transfers

My reads say this will work - including creating the correct
application settings for the programs copied. Does it?

Also I was wondering - will WET work for XP to XP? Anyone know?
