Adding additional RAM
I have tried to install an additional DIMM of 512MB RAM
to my system. The BIOS detects the additional RAM but XP fails to start. If I remove the additional 512 DIMM the systems works OK again. Is there a setting in the registry that covers this? |

Adding additional RAM
You don't say specifically where it fails to start, but if you're not
getting past the bios, you haven;t even gotten near the OS yet. Most likely, the new memory isn't compatible with either the motherboard or with the other stick of ram that you already have. Is there a setting in the registry that covers this? Try removing the original RAM and starting up with just the new RAM by itself. That will show if the problem is with the new RAM itself or if it is with the combination of the old and new RAM together. Good luck Ron Martell Duncan B.C.
