Default Yahoo and MSN Messenger

Hi folks!

Please forgive me if this seems to be a daft question, but I'm new to
instant messaging... Can two people with different IM software
communicate with one another or do they both have to be using the same
software?

I'm using the MSN Messenger that came with my PC and many of my friends
are on Yahoo messenger. Will we be able to chat or do I have to install
Yahoo Messenger?

Thanks in advance!

SB

Hello,

For now, you have to install Yahoo Messenger if you want to talk with them.
But in the near future you'll have the possibility to talk to your Yahoo
friends.
Note: To use this feature you'll have to "upgrade" to Windows Live
Messenger.
