Anniversary update clobbers Indexing
I jumped the gun and installed the Anniversary update directly based on
what I read in this ng. I didn't want MS deciding to do it when I was doing something important and couldn't wait hours for a startup or shutdown... The system has begun rebuilding the index. Don't know what was the matter with the old one. A minor annoyance. |

Don't know what was the matter with the old one. A minor annoyance. That's "normal". The index will also rebuild itself every three months, "just in case it becomes stale". The index will also rebuild, if you restore an OS from backup. It shouldn't really be a surprise when it rebuilds after an OS install. If you set the list of things to be indexed, to an empty list, the indexer finishes really quickly... Paul |
