Default redundant computer on workgroup

I have two computers on a home workgroup. The Name of the first computer was
WINDOWSXP. The "Setup a Home or Small Office Network" wizzard was used to
define a workgroup named CASTAWAYS. I then changed the name of the computer
to DENNIS01 via the Computer Name tab of the System Properties window
leaving the Workgroup name unchanged.

I then used the "Setup a Home or Small Office Network" wizzard to add the
second computer to the CASTAWAYS workgroup. The name of the second computer
was DENNIS02.

Each computer has a wireless card and they communicate through a Netgear
router operating in Infrastructure mode and thus as an Access point.

I used the "This computer connects to the internet through a residential
gateway or through another computer on my network" option in the wizzard.

As a result of this, My Network Places in DENNIS01 shows:

DENNIS01 and
DENNIS02

and I am able to access the resources of DENNIS02 through DENNIS01.

My Network Places in DENNIS02 shows Castaways but when I try and expand this
I get a message saying

"Castaways is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
resource ............ The network path was not found"

How do I give DENNIS02 permission to access access DENNIS01

DENNIS01 by IP address but not by ComputerName

It would appear you have a permissions problem.

How to solve this depends on whether you have Simple File Sharing
enabled or disabled. (It is always enabled with XP Home).

Start by assuring that NetBIOS-over-TCPIP is enabled on all machines.
Instructions are he

"You cannot access shared files and folders or browse computers in the
workgroup with Windows XP"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318030/

Assuming Simple File Sharing, all access is through the "Guest"
account. The Guest account must be active. Instructions for checking
that are he

"How to troubleshoot home networking in Windows XP"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308007/
Skip 2/3 the way down to the "Troubleshoot file sharing and printer
sharing" section.

Also possible is the following:
"Error message when you try to access a Windows XP-based network
computer: "You might not have permission to use this network resource""
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913628
