Default XP Upgrade ?

I have XP Small Business (word, excel, outlook,
publisher). I need to add powerpoint and access. If I
purchase the XP Professional upgrade can I install it
instead of getting powerpoint and access individually?
The upgrade is a bit cheaper.
Thanks.

No. Power Point is not part of any Windows XP version. You are mixing
Windows XP with Office XP here.

Default XP Upgrade ?

Greetings --

I'm afraid that you'll have to purchase the full version of Office
XP Professional. As you can see below, Office XP SBE is _not_ a
qualifying product for the Upgrade version.

Office XP Professional:
You are eligible to upgrade to Microsoft Office XP Professional if you
are a licensed user of one of these products:
Office Premium, Professional, Small Business, Standard, and Developer
editions (version 97 or 2000 for Microsoft Windows® or Windows NT®)
^^ ^^^^

Upgrade Path
Office 97 & 2000 to Office XP? Yes
Previous Office App to Office XP? No
Previous Office App to Office XP App? Yes
Competitive Product to Office XP? No
Works Suite to Office XP (FPP & OEM)? No
Works to Office XP (FPP & OEM)? No

In your case, it might be cheaper to buy PowerPoint 2002 and
Access 2002 as stand-alone products.

Greetings --

It will install fine, but the OP cannot use the Upgrade version,
he'll have to buy the full version.

This actually belongs in the Office group - Small Business is the *Office*
version you have, not Windows and no Office applications have ever been
included with Windows.

But, to answer your question, unless you have a qualifying product (i.e.
Office 97 or 2000) then, no, you cannot. You cannot 'upgrade' a suite of the
same family with an upgrade licence. Microsoft considers this a
'cross-grade' and it is not supported. If you have no qualifying product,
then your only choice is to purchase a full Office XP Professional licence.

Or you could trawl Ebay, pick up the full version of 97 for about £20, and
use that as a qualifying product for the Professional upgrade - you'll still
be quids in.

if you buy the upgrade version you will be able to upgrade only outlook, excel, work, and project. it won't install the access and frontpage.
you need to get them seprately, or buy the standart version of office and you will get every thing.
