Default Dump of physical memory

My cousin has just tried to turn on his computer and he got a message saying
"beginning dump of physical memory. Physical memory dump complete." He has
tried going into safe mode and "stop: C000218 (registry file failure)" comes
up and his screen is just black. Is there any way of sorting it out himself
or will he have to send it off for repair?
