Divx Codec Playback In Media player

I'm compressing an in-game capture on Virtual Dub after
compression the thumbnail and video appears snow white as
if brightness settings were turned up 150%, when I go to
folder to view thumbnail, and when I play back in Windows
Media Player, same file plays back with good color,
contrast, and brightness on Divx player...???
Any help I can get with this I will appreciate...
