Task Manager Processes

I recently had my PC "cleaned up" to increase response time. As a result, it
runs faster but when attempting to open selective internet sites (Mapquest,
EBay); the systems appears to start the process and then gets hung up. When I
look at Task manager, the same 35 processes are open.

Is there anyway I can identify which process(es) are needed to complete the
opening of the sites.

Who cleaned up your PC? What exactly did this person do? Have you tried
using msconfig?

Check the CPU usage in Task Manager. Are any processes using a lot?

Check your HOSTS file. I suspect that along with cleaning up, your system has
been hardened against some malicious websites, which may include some
not-so-malicious sites like eBay and Mapquest. If you find any eBay entries in
HOSTS, you can delete them (make sure its actually ebay URLs and not something
like static-ebay.com or images.ebay.foo.com)
