Hi when I try to defrag or run CHKDSK I get a message "F paramsters not
specified" how can I rectify this

Defrag says that?

Chkdsk requires you to specify the F flag to fix anything.

chkdsk c: /f

F paramsters means "/f"

Instead of just adding some option that you may not understand, why
not read about the chkdsk options and then decide which one are right
for you:
