xp reboots occasionally - IoCancelFileOpen
Joshua,
As you know, all drivers in the file system filter chain have to behave correctly or things can go south. This is a good example. You'll notice AVG anti-virus is higher up the chain. Turns out it was causing the problems. I believe they've fixed the problem in their latest release. Scott Chaney - Author: Magic Folders http://pc-magic.com/ |

Hi gaggan,
Have you tried as scottc suggested and updated the AVG antivirus? It sounds like he can help you get Magic Folders to work. I don't have any symbol information for those files so he would have to do the debugging for you. hi joshua,
well i update my AVG almost daily but still nothing...infact now a whole new bunch of prob has arisen...though i've already posted it under d heading o Trojan HOrse Help...but i'll still mention again... hi, i have an XP prof edition SP2 wit AVG antivirus ver.7(latest) , Ad Aware, n Spybot. ..all are updated regularly. recently my avg has been showing regular virus alerts stating "Trojan horse downloader.Istbar.5.AQ " i always choose the option of deleting the file but sure keeps on coming again n again as some diff file...n i think in folder..C:/administrator/... i don't actually remember, is there any way of actually getting rid of this problem?? Kindly help thx "Joshua Smith [MSFT]" wrote: Hi gaggan, Have you tried as scottc suggested and updated the AVG antivirus? It sounds like he can help you get Magic Folders to work. I don't have any symbol information for those files so he would have to do the debugging for you. This is a good example. You'll notice AVG anti-virus is higher up the chain. Turns out it was causing the problems. I believe they've fixed the problem in their latest release. xp reboots occasionally
Hi, Roddy.
Since nobody else jumped in with the magic cure, maybe I can point you in the right direction. You might start he TROUBLESHOOTING WINDOWS STOP MESSAGES http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.php First read the intro info at the top, the scroll way down to Stop 0xD1. As it says, "The most typical cause is a bad device driver (one that uses improper addresses)." So the first step would be to visit the D-Link website and be sure you have the latest and greatest WinXP driver for your AirPlus. Also, check any FAQs or other information available there. But the AumHa page also says, "It can also be caused by caused by faulty or mismatched RAM, or a damaged pagefile." Have you run a memory test recently? RC -- R. C.
