Altered Font Behavior in Message Windows
Something has changed in my message pop-up windows--the
font has gotten bigger, and frequently forces some of the message to be truncated. This phenomenon started a couple of months ago, and I did not overtly do anything to change it; i.e., what I did, if I caused it, I did inadvertently. In one case, the pop-up window is expanded (the contents, not the window size) that some of the options are pushed off the bottom, and thus cannot be selected. My base display settings specify "normal" for font size, and I can't think of anywhere else this could be set. Please, can anyone help with this? Thanks. |

Altered Font Behavior in Message Windows
I think you said that your font DPI is set at 96 dpi (normal), if so, go
click on the appearence tab in the Display Properties and change the font sizes manually - see if this helps. Louis "Paul Williams" wrote in message ... Altered Font Behavior in Message Windows
Louis, thanks very much for your help--and so quickly,
too. I changed the DPI to 90% (86DPI) and that did indeed change the fonts in the message windows to the point that at least I can now see the whole message, although perhaps a bit small for my eyes. The problem with that, however, is that it changes the text size on EVERYTHING, including such things as the task bar. I then went into display settings and changed to large fonts, but that's a bit too big for the task bar, although not adversely affecting the message windows. Oh well, I can experiment with that. What troubles me most, however, is that this happened without warning, and without overt action or intent on my part. Clearly, something is wrong somewhere--I did not originally alter the DPI setting to make everything too big, so why should I have to alter it to something less than normal just to get normal operation. If I may impose so boldly, can you--or anyone--explain to me how I got into this predicament in the first place? I am NOT in the habit of monkeying around with things like this--any customization I do (intentionally) is always within the bounds of what is normal and done with the provided tools and options of XP. Thanks again, Louis, for at least a workaround. Beyond that, please someone tell me what went wrong in the first place. I'm always ready to learn! -----Original Message----- I think you said that your font DPI is set at 96 dpi (normal), if so, go click on the appearence tab in the Display Properties and change the font sizes manually - see if this helps.
