OMG window sizes are annoying
How in the world can I make the default size of windows to be something
reasonable? It seems like I need at least a 30 inch monitor so that I can have to windows open right next to each other. When I double click on a folder to open it on a new window, it takes up at least 75% of the screen, even though I only have 3 files in it. Also, that stupid thing on the left, how do I get rid of it? I don't want to use the classic "theme" because I like the way the new one looks (except for the green and red stuff, its only x-mas for 1 month... not all year) |

The size of the last window you close, in most applications, will become the
size of the next window you open with that application. If that's not working try holding down the control button while you close the app. That should cover most applications, though there will always be some that don't bother to "remember" window size settings, in which case there is really nothing that you can do. -- Chris Jackson Software Engineer Microsoft MVP Windows XP Associate Expert -- "Miguel De Anda" wrote in message y.com... For folders, click Tools Folder Options. Click on the View tab then press
'Make All Folders Like Current Folder'. This should make sure all folders are the size of the one you perform this task in. Also, if you select 'Windows Classic' in the General tab (note this isn't the whole desktop theme which is also called 'Windows Classic'), this should just remove the common tasks bar on the left (you're right, it is pants).
