Background and Themes
I have had the same problem and I did a clean install of
XP. I tried seeveral of the suggested "fixes" and now I can't even access the Windows & Buttons item of the Appearance Tab...it is grayed out. Originally, mine difficulty started the same way...I had the XP theme applied and then one time when I rebooted it reverted to the Classic theme. I ahve managed to get everything but the task bar back but eben a "repair" did not bring back all of the theme/appearence functionality. I too am looking for a solution.... Mike -----Original Message----- I recently posted a similiar question to this and received a reply but unfortunatly no luck with the suggestions. My problem is when I start windows it was reverting back to windows classic theme every time. Now it has got worse I cant do anything with the theme or desktop background. I am stuck with a plain blue background. I have tried saving themes and applying them and when I try to apply them first I am told they are not valid themes. The second time they will be displayed in the background of the window (that is the window after selecting properties on the desktop with the themes tab to the front)but not on the desktop. I have tried Control Panel / System / Advanced tab / Under Performance clicked settings. At the bottom of the list made sure " Use Visual Styles ..... " is checked. Also tried Administrative tools / Services. In the right pane scrolled to " Themes " Right clicked and sellected Properites. Made sure it is set to " Automatic ". SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP IM SICK OF LOOKING AT A BLUE SCREEN Regards Adrian . |
