Default Desktop Shortcut Problem

Several (not all) desktop shortcuts open to the google default search
engine, or my homepage, instead of the website that were created for!

Help?

It's in the link itself to open in google. Check your desktop link and
see what it looks like. Now as most idiots do here, they don't know how
to check the links so I will tell you here.

Right-Click on the desktop icon and then choose Properties. It will
show you the link. Perhaps your link might be wrong so it opens Google
search engine to find the correct page. Anything is possible with
nutters. Windows does require some intelligence but people don't
understand this.

Sounds like an invasion of an adware, redirect, or virus culprit. I
would try Ultra Adware Killer first. You can download from MajorGeeks:

There goes another idiot suggesting something that can be resolved by
simple common sense.
