device manager... access denied??

hey all

i recently picked up a pixel view tv tuner card. after
installing it in the comp, on first boot xp opens
the "found new hardware wizard" and asks to install
drivers, fair enough. the drivers are then found on the cd
that came with it, and it start to copy files... but after
the progress bar gets right to the end, i get this error:

Access is denied

access denied?!?! i am the computer admin and have all
permissions set to full control. i have tried installing
in safe mode but still get the same error. why would it be
access denied? nothing can be using it because it has no
driver installed?? after stumbling for quite some time, i
tried uninstalling another device from the device manager
list, and tried to reinstall it, but the same thing
happened!! does this meen that there is a regeristy
problem when writing the drivers??

Blake, I was able to install pixelview Bt878 drivers but there comes another surprise. There must be a conflict with MSN Messenger and with OutlookExpress, which fail when I try to watch tv. When I tried another tv software system almost crashed. Now I can
not open device manager from CONTROL PANEL-SYSTEM. Still it is accessible from CONTROL PANEL-ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS-COMPUTER MANAGEMENT-DEVICE MANAGER, but reinstalling drivers does nothing good.
Moreover, bundled webcam does not work under WinXP.....
