Default Win 7 start menu

Next to the search box and start menu, Windows has a button that provides the
options of how to restart/shut down the computer. I wonder it it could be
reprogrammed to have "restart" as the default nstead of "shutdown". Has anyone
done that? Seems like, IIRC, XP had the default in the registry somewhere and I
changed mine at one point. If this pratical/possible in Win 7, build 7601 64x?

Sure. Right click on that button and you will see all the options including
the one you want.

That doesn't change the default.

Yes it does. Right click on the Start Button | Properties | Start Menu Tab |
Power Button Action. Click on the Down Arrow and choose the option you want
and then click on Apply.

It does here - whatever you select, stays selected.

I stand corrected. I misred the stament to say "click on the button" rather
than "right click on the button". Sorry.
