Default After upgrade, some apps. don't work when logged on with user acco

I upgraded from Win 98 to Win XP. After doing the upgrade, I noticed that some application, such as Greetings Workshop, Word, and Outlook Express didn't work properly. It seems that when I am logged on as the administrator, the applications work properly
, but when I'm logged on as user, portions of the applications don't work. An example is Word spell checker. I assume this is due to access permissions that need to be extended to the user account.

How do I determine the files that the user account cannot access, and after identifying them, how do I extend access privileges to the user account?
