Default Windows cannot find 'C:\Documents'.

Hi guys,

I am terribly having a pop up message and lag problem when I turn on my PC.

I'm getting this error message when everything is done loading:
[desktop]

"Windows cannot find "'C:\Documents'. Make sure you typed the name
correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button,
and then click Search."

and when I turn off my computer there are several messages that pop ups
before it turns it off. [it has something to do with RUN32.dll if im not
mistaken]

I tried following the suggestions like this one:

"
Go to 'Run' and then key in 'regedit'
After that the Registry Editor windows will be pop out
press alt+F, 'find windows' will be pop up
then key in 'adobe\manager.exe' and press 'Find Next'
just delete the file 'Run' with data "C:\Documents and Settings\Users\ . . .
under the Folder - Windows NT - CurrentVersion - Windows
"

but I can't seem to be finding the
'RUN' file from the registry when its finished searching. or when I click
FIND NEXT, It doesn't show any results...

Please help me, my laptop and my computer is at stake. I got this virus when
I inserted my friends USB into my computer, and then the next time I turned
it on, it started showing. By The Way, my operating system is windows XP.

Thanks in advance.

Get rid of the virus and you should be rid of this problem. It sounds like
you are still infected.

Default Windows cannot find 'C:\Documents'.

Since C:\Documents is not a valid Windows folder you can assume that some
other entity created this non standard folder. If you had malware and
removed it, you are still partially infected. Likely a line in the registry
is calling something that was in this bogus folder to run and since it has
been removed you are getting notices that the folder is non existent.

Default Windows cannot find 'C:\Documents'.

Likely you have a startup shortcut that is missing the quotes around the
filename. What is happening is that

"C:\Documents and settings\{whatever}\file.exe"

is being seen as "C:\Documents" followed by "and" then "Settings\" because
of the spaces in the name.
