Default How to check for whether Auto Negotiation over MDIX?

I want to programmatically check whether Auto negotiation over MDIX is
enabled in the etherport in my XP machine. From my initial analysis I came to
know this is part of NDIS 6.0 driver and there is a OID OID_GEN_LINK_STATE
which has the attributes. Can anyone please help me on how to get this
information programmatically? I intend to develop an application in C# which
checks for this Auto negotiation support.
Also please let me know if the PC having NDIS 5.1 can support Auto
Negotiation?
