Default XP Home Constant Reboot

HP Pavilion a1030e, XP Home Editon. Reboots at Windows XP Screen. Was
able to boot into Safe Mode but could not find anything wrong. I then
started a Repair from XP Home disk. After files where copied and setup
rebooted, same issue. Now I can not boot into safe mode or regular
mode and setup cannot continue. No new hardware, no new software
installed. Very confused. I can boot using BART PE so I can access the
file system. Anything there that can fix???? Help!!!

Have you tried scanning for malware?

Yes. I was actually able to do this before the reboot. It found a
couple fake's and deleted them but I did several reboots after they
where removed.

What is the name of the anti-malware program you used?

What specific malware did it find?

If you can manage to boot into Safe Mode (not sure at this point), try
to disable the Automatic Restart on System Failu

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/tipstr...utorestart.htm

If you can't get past the F8 menu, perhaps you will see this option
listed:

"Disable automatic restart on system failure"

If so, select it. Then if you get a Blue Screen of Death, post back with
the *complete* error message.

Since your PC seems fine once booted from the Bart PE CD, I'm guessing
there is no hardware problem and that malware is responsible for your
problem. If you haven't backed up all your important data yet, now is
the time to do so! You may need to wind up performing a Clean Install.
