Default Small Laptops With "Big" Screens?

I'm shopping for a laptop.

A nice-to-have would be minimal physical size with a high-rez screen so
I can hang a large monitor on it for extended use yet carry it
conveniently.

Most of what I have seen so far is 1366x768 with one departure to
1600x900 per http://tinyurl.com/lhp2n5n - but that's a 17" screen.

The Surface paradigm has been calling out to me for awhile, but I have
doubts about functionality/horsepower.

Surface-type devices aside, has anybody seen a physically-small laptop
(let's say 15" or smaller) with decent horsepower and a graphics card
that will support 1920x1080 resolution on an external monitor?

Oops!.... Dumb question. My apologies:

But, so far, the question of machines with that rez/horsepower and
screens significantly smaller than 15" remains open.

Conventional design, high res screen on offer. 15.6". GT 750M graphics.

(graphics benchmark... pretty good for a laptop)

Announced as available at the Microsoft brick and mortar store recently.
Small but wrong form factor. A carbon copy of the Surface design,
for those who don't want Microsoft branded product.

You could try the Asus notebook web page, but it was so
slow, I had to give up. I guess they were too busy "tracking"
me :-)

It's beginning to look like "Multimedia Laptop" and "UltraBook" are two
terms that return relevant hits.

The Dell Venue 11 pro sounds like it might have possibilities given the
availability of a "..fourth-generation Haswell processor up to Core
i5..." option. Dunno what that would do to battery life, but my laptop
use isn't very battery intensive.... couple hours would probably work
for me.

Dunno from ".. Intel's Atom quad-core Bay Trail processors..." so I
guess I'd have to actually try one of those to see if it has the
horsepower to do what I want.

Haven't found anything Haswell yet.

Asus' 'Transformer Book Trio' is looking interesting for my use:

Big ol' Android tablet for media consumption... then a (hopefully)
reasonably-powerful laptop with the ports I want. "Intel Core i5" has a
nice sound to it... although I haven't found out what speed they run it
at yet.

This one has the Haswell listed at 1.8GHz:
http://preview.tinyurl.com/qboxj6m

But, unlike some of the others, it doesn't list what the tablet processor is
or its speed.

This one lists both processors, but not their speeds:

Looks like a pretty nice setup, but I'm always a little hesitant buying
these "all-in-one" devices. It seems like the sum of the parts is never
equal to the sum of the individual devices. The (few) reviews seem to say
they're OK.

Here's a list of the other Asus Transformers:

Have fun :-)
