Default Desktop... Show windows stacked OR side-by-side fails?

Show windows stacked OR side-by-side no longer works for an
alternative way of maximizing a window? That is assuming the
window is the only visible, non-minimized window.

I sometimes do that to a window so any of the four sides can be
grabbed and adjusted precisely. Like for positioning familiar
windows so that they are easy to find.

Now, Windows acts like there are other visible windows when the
Taskbar is right clicked and the selection "Show windows
stacked" OR "Show windows side-by-side" is chosen.

Oh nevermind. It is still flaky, but apparently he window
variables are reset with a restart. That cleared up most of
the problem.
