Something snuck in
Shut system down last night, all normal.Fired up this morning and find
an icon on desktop labeled Chrome, Not the colored one but a rectangular white one. Knowing something stinks I click on it for the fun and sure enough the dialog box says it is missing or moved. OK so i go to programs and features to remove it but it is not there. which is no surprise. Next I open Internet Explorer to do some googling anf find my home page (Kadaza) is gone and in its place is MSN. So I say what the hell is going on I did not download or install *anything* yesterday Next chapter, I decide to do a system restore and clear up the whole mess but as usual it fails to work using 3 different Restore points Now after a cople hours I have everything back to normal. I am not sure what caused all this, So I created a couple new manual restore points and run them back and they work OK. I am wondering if the 2 updates in the last 2 days have any culpability? On the 9TH cumulative kb4040724. On the 10th cumulative kb4041676. Anyway, its nice to be retired and have time to set these things straight. If this was a business or work machine I would probably be turning the air blue and it wouldn't be a halo around my head. :-) But everything is back to normal with no hair loss (I have a Short brush-cut). :-) Rene |

You may not have anything better to do but Microsoft Windows 10 users have work to do and pay taxes so that nutters like you can collect social welfare. -- With over 500 million devices now running Windows 10, customer satisfaction is higher than any previous version of windows. |
