Default Old Programs in Windows 10

I have a lot of great software written in Quick Basic v4.5 and Visual
Basic v3, that won't run in contemporary versions of Windows, but
require Windows XP or earlier. I have to use a VirtualBox running XP
for these which works OK, BUT this precludes my sharing anything. Is
there any way to adjust these apps for running in W10 ? I would have
thought that M$ would have included something for this.

Are you wanting to share the actual programs or just results from
running those programs, as in data created by the programs, screen
shots, and the like?

You're running Win10 64-bit? VB3 is 16-bit. It
changed during VB4. VB5-6 are 32-bit. You can't
run 16-bit software on a 64-bit OS. With 32-bit
software Microsoft provides a "shim" library that
translates between the 32-bit process and the
64-bit OS. Nothing is provided for 16-bit.

If you want to run them on 32-bit they will
*probably* work, but you need to check the
dependencies. Each version of VB has a runtime
DLL. VB6 version is pre-installed on Win10. Earlier
versions would need to be installed.

I don't know about QB, but I imagine the situation
there is probably similar.

Don't waste your time. SteveGG is a known troll here who hates Windows
10 but asks questions to tease everybody here. He has a very serious
mental problem and it is rumoured that he is an illegitimate son of
Harvey Weinstein but Harvey has abandoned him because he was too thick.

Not sure about Visual Basic,

You are not sure about SteveGG's background either so read this:

You will have to test them to find out, using **32-bit** Win 10!
Hopefully, you don't need any virtual machines.

64-bit Window$ don't run 16-bit programs.

BTW, do you have their source codes? Try compiling them without
modification under 32-bit Visual Basic or maybe Visual Basic.Net! IF
that failed, hire a good programmer to modify them so that they compile
under 32-bit Visual Basic.

I thought of that, but I don't have the source code.
