Is there a more recent NVMe driver for Win10?
So I recently purchased a MyDigitalSSD BPX 480gb drive and I was poking
around in the device manager and noticed the NVMe controller driver is from 2006. Does anyone know if there is a more updated version for this driver? I've tried searching but I must not be on my game tonight because I can't find the answer. System specs a i7-6700K AsRock Z170M Extreme4 16gb Corsair Vengeance ram MSI RX480 Gaming X 4gb EVGA SuperNova G2 650 watt Windows10 Pro |

Here is a link to my test scores. https://i.imgur.com/9pc1rPs.png Asrock has an RST driver. "Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver and utility ver:15.2.0.1020" https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z170...oad&os=Win1064 ******* The release notes on the Intel site for 15.2.0.1020 say: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...ogy-Intel-RST- "This driver supports RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10. The driver should be installed after the operating system has been installed. F6 and RAID BIOS configurations need to be performed prior to installation of this driver for proper operation. This driver supports NVMe devices. --- " I don't have an NVMe drive here, so have no hands-on experience with driver sequence. Note that Intel also lists an F6 driver. ******* They mention using iRST here as well. Rather than a Windows provided solution. http://www.legitreviews.com/mydigita...eview_190472/2 I've not done any NVMe stuff here, and in any case, the insistence on UEFI/GPT for the thing kinda sucks. I wouldn't want to be "trapped" in such a situation. I like solutions that work with CSM. Apparently there's some minimal version of iRST, and NVMe wasn't always in it. I think the driver on the Asrock site is "new enough". ******* There's a thread here on NVMe, but it's a long long read. The first post didn't mention using the iRST driver. http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts....-on-a-pcie-ssd And the files in the F6 kit, don't have anything indicating NVMe about them. The RAID package, that's in an MSI and I'd need to find a recipe somewhere to take that apart. Paul |

Having a 256 GB RAM drive totally rocks. Mine is divided into two parts, most of it for drive C and the rest of it for a huge RAM drive. File transfers are blazing fast. |
