Default Win Messenger 4.7

I recently downloaded Win Mess, I can communicate but for
some reason I can't edit my name that is displayed, It is
my full email address and some other jitish. Cant edit in
personal settings either. Have a .net account so why is
this so?

Are you using MSN Explorer to try to edit your name, or by going through
Tools...Options...and editing the nickname from there?
