I have T'bird set up to read my AOL mail--that's never

Tell me how to set up an account that is ON T"BIRD.
By that I mean an account so that my address

return address.
The question has been ignored throughout this whole
affair. And it's always been my only concern!

I'm putting you into the Bozo bin so I never have to read any of your
posts again. You are the complete idiot.

Perhaps, but that is a childish response that ignores the question

You could go to gandi.net and buy a domain name registration with
thunderbird as the second level name.

Currently gandi has a promotional for thunderbird.click for $3.62 for
one year.

I can't find a good gandi link for whatever kind of relationship Tb has
with gandi to get something free for one year like the article I posted
earlier.

Once you buy thunderbird.click, you can have 5 free mailboxes for it.

Or you could shop around and see if you can find a registrar which has
some promotional deal where you get the name free for a year.

Sure! I've said that too a few tomes. But that has never been the
issue. That dies not make T'bird a stand alone e-mail client.
By which I mean one who's "owner" has a T'bird address .

No it hasn't been ignored, it has been answered by many, many times.

Not true. It hasn't been answered at all.

Well, set it up to SEND your AOL mail too.

Tell me how to set up an account that is ON T"BIRD.

You have persistently declined to say WHY you want an @thunderbird.*
address.

The question has been ignored throughout this whole
affair. And it's always been my only concern!

No it hasn't; you started by expressing irritation (or some such phrase)
that the "scan to email" function of your scanner wouldn't work.

(If you set up T'bird to SEND your AOL email, and make it your default
email software, "scan to email" _will_ work.)

Yeah, it has - see the copy & paste below for one example - but you seem
unable to understand. I'll try again and use small words...

You cannot use Thunderbird (or any other resident email client) and have it
give you an email address such as

That is because Thunderbird is an email CLIENT, not a SERVER. Servers store
email sent to one at the server so that an email client can fetch them FROM
the server TO your computer.

Your confusion probably arises (partially) because you use that POS piece of
crap, AOL. It is NOT a "resident email client".

See at the bottom of the copy & paste for further comment.

OK, one more time...

Of COURSE no one has an account at Thunderbird. That's because Thunderbird
is a resident email CLIENT not a SERVER, a concept which you seem unwilling
or unable to grasp even though your OP was asking about a resident client.

This makes no sense! An e-mail client, as I understand it, is software
with which I can send, receive and forward e-mail correspondence.

That is correct.

And by "resident" I mean installed on my c0mputer.an also
Thunderbird, is in my case "resident".

That is also correct.

I can also read e-mail there if I have listed other "clients" from which it
gets the mail

That is NOT correct. You seem think that the server/domain name - AOL,
Verizon, etc. - is a client...WRONG, they are servers.

But no one can send e-mail to me at T'bird nor can I initiate
e-mail with a Thunderbird return address.

That is also correct.

Nice. Thanks. I find it impossible to believe that pfsszxt is not being
difficult on purpose. Applying filter now.

Whatever you're smoking, it must be good stuff.

series of stuff has erupted. Little of it has to do with that issue.

REALLY good stuff. I guess you'll vote for Trump, too.

Thank god for killfiles.
