Default Rules in Outlook10

In "Advanced Rules" wizard a selection of text in
the "Senders Name" (email Address) is not
specific.

EG if I define "informa" as the trigger to send
that email to the junk bin, Outlook will also send
"infomant" emails too. How is one to specify a
specific string of letters and no more?

Could you use an exception ? The Rules Filter has an exception
feature, after the basic rule is defined.

trigger on: informa
except: informant informatron

That's a crappy way to do it, but that's all the interface
suggests to me, on that web page. I don't have any modern
versions of Outlook to use as a reference here. (I have an
Outlook from the year 2000 or so.)

It's pretty hard to make Wizards, without exposing levels
of complexity that some users won't like. The "power user"
versus "regular user" problem.

If you know the person's email address, then use the whole thing as in,
" or part of it, "informa@".
Like Paul, I use an older version of Outlook (2003), so I'm not sure if the
same rules apply to writing your Rules as mine. I have a number of rules
moving/deleting incoming emails using a variety of key words and/or email
addresses, and they work well 99% of the time. Occasionally, one slips
through, but not often.

Hope that helps :-)
