Default Dial up problems

I am having problems getting my computer to connect to the internet at
anytime past 8. It works fine during the day but it seems once 8 comes
around that it will not connect. It gives me the error that says the
networks computer did not respond and if i try enough times ill start getting
modem error messages. The computer dials the number and makes the noise but
just doesnt connect for some reason. If someone knows anything about this i
would appreciate the help. Support for my internet sayed it was a problem
with my computer not thier side.

If you mean 8 PM (local time), that's prime time for many computers users.
There probably just aren't enough connections available at that time. All
you can do is dial again until you make a connection.

I also had a problem getting the internet to work when i had it on Cable.
After i downloaded that SP2 it wouldnt let any of the programs connect to the
internet and i would have to go to the control panel and disable/enable the
LAN connection. it would work fine after i did that.

Some ISPs allow only a certain amount of connection time (or a certain
amount of uploading / downloading) for the monthly charge and then deny any
further access until the next subscription is due / paid. Some are less
severe and just charge you extra in the following direct debit / credit card
payment for the extended use of their service.

To be honest it sounds as though this may not be the cause of the problem
but it is worth asking if only to positively eliminate it.
