Default Using LCD Projector to project DVD's

I have an IBM A31 Laptop with installed DVD/CD Drive. I
want to use an Epson PowerLite 53c LCD Projector to
project DVD's for meetings.

Am using Windows Media Player 9. When I put DVD in the
drive, it plays on the laptop screen fine. However, the
DVD video will not project through the LCD projector.

On the computer screen, I see the video playing. The
projected LCD image is black in the center of the Windows
Media Player screen, no video projects.

Can someone tell me the settings needed to get the DVD
video signal through to the Epson projector?

Do I need a separate DVD Decoder to make this happen?

Assistance appreciated.
