Default pc to tv

Trying to watch dvd from my pc through tv using an s-
video cable, so far no joy.

with my laptop, buttons clearly shown to transfer output
from lcd screen to tv/monitor, is it that simple, or am i
missing something.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Generically:

Connect PC to TV with S-Video cable. Turn TV on.

Reboot PC. Windows can now 'see' there is a tv attached.

Right click on desktop, select Properties. Click on Settings tab, then
Advanced. In the Monitor tab, click to switch output from monitor to TV.
Audio will still emanate from PC speakers. S-Video is video ONLY.

If you're trying to watch a DVD on the TV and everything seems to be
displaying OK until you start playing the DVD, then you're probably
encountering the macrovision problem. Nothing to do with XP, it's a
preventative measure done by the DVD companies to stop you copying the DVD.
