Corrupted Menu Icons, Checkboxes and Radio Buttons
Somehow the system fonts that WindowsXP Home uses to display small menu icons
got corrupted. The issue is my radio checkboxes have been replaced by some unidentifiable icons (so you can't tell if they are checked or not), my Start Menu-All Programs (right arrow indicating more items in a group) has been replaced by a tiny mouse icon, up/down scrollbar arrows have ben replaced by various other icons..... How do I restore the system menu display icons? |

Does the same hold true? Yes, no difference. The marlett font was the culprit in similar circumstances back in Windows 98, and maybe even earlier. -- Ken Blake - Microsoft MVP Windows: Shell/User Please reply to the newsgroup |

Yes, that did it! Thanks. The only remaining issue is that it works fine,
but the font shows up as a normal TT font in Windows Explorer. I've tried setting it's attributes to hidden both via it's properties and using DOS's attrib via a CMD window but it stays the same. Everything works, so I'm not complaining any. "Ken Blake, MVP" wrote: Yes, no difference. Corrupted Menu Icons, Checkboxes and Radio Buttons
Hi I'm looking for Ken, hoping you can help with a problem that has appeared on my computer. I'm running XP Home and all of a sudden all my icons are all jumbled up. All applications seem to be working, but all individual icons both on the desktop and everywhere else in my user profile look like they are scrambled eggs. Could you tell a dummy like me how to go about deleting the Marlett.ttf font? Would that fix the problem? My message below (a very old one) was to point out that jrplosay's problem below may have been *caused* by his accidentally deleting the marlett.ttf font.
