Default XP Error Blue screen error code

Hello...I have done searches but I guess I'm not getting it. I got a virus,
I know this already due to a big huge screen telling me so. Now I get
nothing, no desk top icons nothing. Cannot restart in safe mode or any other
mode. So my plan was to just reinstall XP.

I get the blue screen with the "a problem occured and windows has been shut
down to prevent damage to your computer" blah blah
***STOP: 0x0000007B (oxf8acd524,oxC000034,0x0000000,0x00000000)

I have my oringal disc but that is not working. I shut down my computer
then turn it back on with the disc in the drive and I get nothing. Also I
can get to the sign in screen toss the disc in and I still get nothing.

Can anyone help me? I don't know how to get to a command promt or anything
like that

You need hard disk drive controller drivers.

I also meant to add It's a Dell..SO I went to Dells site for help and it
tells me to select in the boot menu, CD but that screen does not give me that
option..only safe mode, safe mode with networking, and command promt. None
of these work, I have tried selecting all of them and I get the blue screen
with that Stop error

What is "admin login"?

If you logon as administrator - what happens?

"You need hard disk drive controller drivers." Where do I get these or where
do I find these?

That is based off my assumption you are trying to do a clean installation...
True?
(I based that assumption off your statement, "So my plan was to just
reinstall XP.")

If so - you have mentioned elsewhere it is a Dell. A Dell what? Model?

The drivers will come from them.

Does this machine have a Floppy Disk Drive in it?

If no - then you can just change the BIOS so the SATA operation is "Legacy"
and install Windows XP again.

Good idea but you should take your error message below and either paste it
into google search or something to that effect if you have a computer handy
just in case this is a hardware error and not only a software error created
by a virus.

"a problem occured and windows has been shut
down to prevent damage to your computer" blah blah
***STOP: 0x0000007B (oxf8acd524,oxC000034,0x0000000,0x00000000)

Ok if you're ok to start re-installation the next question I have is have
you got a back-up of any important information on your computer? as this
might go bye bye with re-install.

I always suggest taking your computer to a technician and this isn't going
to be the quickest thing to reload/re-install. Further they'll know better
how to do things such as set your laptop to boot from cd/dvd rom/rw drive,
and, of-course getting a backup from your current installation etc..

But if you've weighed the odds and want to reload yourself you can get to
your bios by typing either F2 botton or F1 of ESC or DEL dependant on your
computer you should see this option if you press the TAB button when the
machines screen starts up immediately. (Pressing TAB will take away the DELL
logo when starting and show you what is happenning in the background)

I hope this helps good luck.

It is an Optiplex GX270 if I recall. I do have a floppy drive but I do not
have any floppy discs for the machine...so I guess I'm going to have to get
them from Dell?
