Default Missing printer status icon

The printer status icon does not appear when I send a print job to my
printer- any suggestions? Tweak IU doesn't help.
Thanks
Dave

is this a local or a network printer?

Is the feature enabled in the Printer Folder Advanced options? Open
Printers folder, File, Server Properties, Advanced

If this is a connection, be sure to open the file and printer sharing ports
on the firewall software.

The printer is local- I actually use two Epson printers, but I switch cables
manually when I need to. Neither of the printers (both Epsons) causes the
icon to be displayed when I send a print file.

Did you confirm the setting is enabled?

It was NOT enabled- I followed the directions you sent me and that seemed to
do the trick- I have no idea how it became disabled.
Thank you very much for your help.
