Default System restore points...they do what?

"Homer J. Simpson" wrote in message
...
He basically said I just needed to use system restore points to
restore my system after a crash but would never elaborate as to what
the restore function in XP is actually capable of. He would never
write back more than a sentence, despite my continual request for more
explanation! Unbelievable!

Sounds like you've exceeded the boundaries established by the drone's
scripted reply set.

I'm not going to apologize for HP (I hate their guts as much as the next
guy), but if you want details on XP's Restore functionality, it's really a
Microsoft question.

It's a Microsoft question, but since it's HPs OEM copy of XP, it's up to HP
to provide support, which includes answering Microsoft questions.

I've always liked HP printers, but never liked their computers. This latest
bit about not providing any CDs is about the last straw. I thought restore
CDs were a lousy option, but this is much worse.
