Notification setting
Windows 10pro (upgraded form W7pro).
Settings -- System -- Notification: in the list showing the apps one can activate to show notifications I had this small portable program: USB Disk Ejector (handy in W7 to remove safely USB devices). I discovered each time I use UDE in W10 it add itself again to the above mentioned list! Now I have USB Disk Ejector listed some 11 times. Of course I stopped to use UDE and removed it from my PC (it was portable and not installed) but the 11 UDE entries are still there. Do you know how to remove them? It is there a way to add or remove a program in the notification allowed programs? I searched the registry for USB Disk Ejector but I didn't find it. Any help will be appreciated. Best Regards Albert |

Best Regards Albert CCleaner might help with that problem, it has a setting to clear the Notification Area cache. On the cleaner tab Advanced Tray Notifications cache. |

Right-click on that and select the device you wish to eject. -- //Steve// |

I did try Ccleaner but, alas, no way: silly 11 entries still there. Thank you anyway Albert |

I don't find your advice very helpful. I'm using W10 since August 10 and the above mentioned issue (quite small indeed) is the only one I find so far. Furthermore I do think the problem was caused by the Usb Disk Ejector and is not due to W10. Greetings |

So the interesting part of your problem, would be whether all the instances of this portable software, report the same "Path to the executable". You would think the OS would notice they all have the same path, and throw out the redundant ones. So while it can be cleaned up, the puzzling part is why it did that in the first place. Paul Hello Paul, thank you very much for your precious advices. I did downloaded the .bat file from "tenforum", run it, I saw explorer closing (desktop vanishing) and finally I reboot, but the 11 UDE entries are still there! For me the above is only aminor annoyance but indeed it's a very puzziling one. Since UDE is portable no traces of it should be found in the registry, and just in case I removed it from its directory: how it is possible that, after rewriting the notification area informations, the 11 UDE entries are stille there? Mistery :-) Thanks you again Paul take good care Albert |

My fault was to not using it from the start. Thank you very much for your answer Albert |
