I purchased this because it advertises "no more ice chunks" and was very disappointed that it does not make icy drinks without ice chunks. I did read the instructions and tips but it didn't help. It's also VERY noisy. My former Black & Decker blender did a better job making icy drinks and was not as noisy as this one. I am returning this.
This is easily the noisiest blender I've ever owned. I worry about setting off car alarms on the street when I run it. But it's also the most effective blender I've ever had. It's easy to clean, easy to run, totally powerful and I'd recommend it to anyone. An excellent value.
My roommate moved out, along with her blender. I chose this as a replacement since it was on sale and touted the "wave action" design. The first problem was that this blender doesn't do the best job of blending. The blades will just move whatever it is out of the way your blending and spin freely unless it's babied with only a little bit of material at a time to start things off. The wave action does seem to work and helps for adding extra ingredients to smoothies. it is incredibly loud and hops about the countertop unless held down. The base heats up very quickly and I have no doubt this is what caused the motor to fail. This blender is a POS in nearly every way excpet that it is easy to take apart and clean. but what does it matter when it breaks after being used a few times.
I bought the 10-speed Wave-Action blender specifically for making fruit smoothies. I've tried it three times, and it's no longer welcome in my house. Even after cutting up frozen strawberries by hand, I still have to stop the blender multiple times in an attempt to shake or shove the berries into the vacinity of the blades. And that doesn't even work, as evidenced by the very, very chunky fruit smoothie I just ate (many of the berries were the same size they went in, after several rounds of "blending"). I wouldn't recommend this blender unless you enjoy periodically raising your blood pressure to dangerous levels.
Since my new blender arrived, I have been on a spree of smoothies and sauces. The unit is versatile and very easy to clean, and I especially like that the 'wave action' eliminates the need to use a spoon or scoop to remove finished contents. Overall, it is a superb value for the price.
10 speed Blender with Patent pending Wave-action blending jar that forces the mixture from the top of the jar directly down into the blades for more complete mixing - completely crushes ice -no left over chunks. 48 oz capacity jar.

If you dane to even notice this reply; what on earth were you thinking that
you thought it would be a well received post that has bugger all to do with
any subject on this entire news sever, let alone this particular group?
Because, I have to tell you, if you did not even guess, that it wasn't [well
received] and you have been reported (by this user) for spamming.

Can't you find a nice "Wives and Mothers Talk Tupperware" group to post in?
