Default Windows 10 & Norton Antivirus?

I am looking into upgrading from Win7 to Win10. I have Norton Antivirus
(current version) running live on my computer. Is there any problem(s) with
Norton Antivirus running on Win10?

Thanks

I'm currently running Norton 360 and have no problems at all so I would expect the Norton Antivirus
to work equally well.
There was a very short period where the Norton 'safesearch' toolbar was not compatible with Mozilla
Firefox but Norton fairly quickly sorted that little problem out.
This is on the 64 bit version 10056 build on an i7 920 processor (if this is relevant).

Drat it!
It should read as 10586 build.

"I cannot find my Norton product after I upgrade to Windows 10"

https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/...rProfile_en_us

Windows10NortonUpgrader.exe 875KB (means it's a stub)

So while it may not be visible or completely functional
right after the upgrade, you can hammer it into shape.

More ideas are listed here. Including the Norton Removal Tool
for when installing just isn't fixing it.

As far as I'm concerned, there're a problem running Norton Anti-virus
on any version of Windows. It's among the worst choices of an
anti-virus program.

Wrong.

To me I do not see a whole lot of difference between most of the
programs rated on that site.

There are three points that are compared Protection, Performance, and
Usability, each point with six levels.

These are the popular Security programs and from this review I would be
surprised if the average user will see any difference in the
performance. Defender comes in with poor performance in the two most
important areas, with Ave having performance problems in the second most
important area Performance.

Norton 6, 6, and 6 balls 18 balls
Kaspesky Lab 6, 6, and 6 balls 18 balls
Bitdefender 6, 6, and 6 balls 18 balls

McAfee 5.5, 5.5, and 6 17 balls
Avast 5.5, 5.5, and 6 17 balls

Avg 6, 4.5, and 6 balls 16.5 balls

Defender 3.5, 4.5 and 6 balls 12 balls

The problem with some of the opinions on Usenet is that many of those
opinions are based on not having ever used the current or prior
product...and if the latter that prior experience was years or decades ago.

Having said the above, the pre-installed by OEM versions of AV/AM ware
should be removed using the appropriate manufacture removal tools before
upgrading a qualifying o/s to W10 and also on new devices replacing
those with the retail version.

After decades of loyal usage I gave up on all Norton products about 15
years ago. Too many crashes, incompatabilities, false alerts, yadda
yadda. Oh, and an incompatability that charged me for an an upgrade,
wouldn't work, and they refused to refund the charge. Screw them. I'll
never buy nor recommend any product of theirs.

When Peter Norton owned it it was great. When Symantec bought it? What
a freaking disaster.

Symantec pretty much left the core intact until 2001, though System
Works was a decent product until 2002. By 2006 - the bloat peaked. The
Suite versions were to be avoided. Stand-alone NAV was a much better
product until discontinued in 2015 replaced with Security Standard and
Deluxe.

Having tested Norton and Symantec products since Norton Commander...it
goes up and down...even a few pre-Symantec versions were duds at
release. I've been meaning to test Security Standard on my Insider
Build...probably won't get around to it until well after the holiday season.
