Default bios issues for SATA HDD

Can't tell motherboard to set my SATA Drive to boot array, areas are grayed
out and I can't highlight it. Wanted to use my OS on my large 300GB SATA,
I'm not sure if the bios up-dates that I have seen will be what I want to
happen or something more detrimental to my system.

Read your mobo manual, by downloading it from the mobo manu.site if
neccessary.
How you do it very much depends on your mobo, eg it can be by bios settings
and or mobo jumpers

Marie:
It's really important for you to precisely describe your present
configuration and your precise objectives.

1. When you say you want to "set my SATA Drive to boot array", what exactly
do you mean? Are you referring to a RAID configuration or that you simply
want to install the XP OS onto that HDD so that it will function as your
boot drive?

2. Tell us something about your present system...
a. What motherboard (make & model) are you using?
b. What HDDs are presently installed and what are your plans for them?
c. Is the system functioning without any problems, notwithstanding the issue
with your 300 GB SATA HDD? And what's the make & model of that drive?

3. Why are you mentioning BIOS updates?

DL's suggestion that you review your motherboard's manual or user guide is a
good one since installing & configuring SATA HDDs is not always the "cut &
tried" process we usually experience with PATA HDDs and hopefully the
information contained in your motherboard's manual/guide will provide
sufficient guidance for this purpose.

In any event, if you need further help please provide as much background
information as you can re your present system and precisely what you're
trying to accomplish.
Anna
