Apache OpenOffice Portable 4.1.6 released
LibreOffice dropped support for Windows XP
1) because XP is insecure and all XP machines would die a horrible death from massive hack attacks in 2014 2) very generous bribe from M$ (take your pick, one of them is true). OpenOffice is a secure alternative and is kept current. Loads in just under 2 seconds on my reasonably fast hardware. https://portableapps.com/apps/office...ffice_portable Unless you want dozens of extra languages, mark the "remove extra languages" box on install. It will install for the chosen language +English. You will probably want to disable all the phone home "features" in settings. Also disable Java, VB scripting and "search suggestions". And entering your name/address is OPTIONAL. Just don't. PortableApps are best installed to C:\ or the root of a pendrive. HTH []'s -- Don't be evil - Google 2004 We have a new policy - Google 2012 |
