MSN Messenger won't run in background
After disabling Windows Messenger and installing MSN
Messenger 5.0 I can't get the last one to run in the background. When I click the X in the corner to hide the messenger in the system tray, it closes down completely. I deinstalled MSN Messenger, ran Norton Systemworks to fix any error and delete any left over registry keys, installed MSN Messenger again but no results. MSN Messenger keeps shutting down. Any ideas how to make it stay online? Thanks for your help, Carry. |

MSN Messenger won't run in background
Greetings Carry,
To fix this, just right-click the MSN Messenger 5 icon in the notification area (system tray -- by the clock), choose Exit, then download and run the following .reg file: http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...background.reg After running/importing, click Start, then All Programs, then MSN Messenger 5 to restart MSN Messenger 5. When you click the 'X' now, it should just go down the taskbar as it should. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "Carry" wrote in message ...
