blank dvds freeze my computer

Default blank dvds freeze my computer

hi all not sure where to post this .the problem i have is when i put a blank
dvd into my dvd drive to burn to my computer freezes ,i cant use the mouse or
eject the drive.i dont get any error messages or anything. i can play music
and burn music using cd and i can watch films using the same drive .but for
some reason when i insert a blank disk the light on the drive flashes and
everything els stops .i have windows xp and my drive is a emprex duel layer
16x. i have tried using different disk brands which have all worked before
but dont now. thanks in advance for any help.

I suspect the drive is flaky. You could try a Dvd cleaner and try the
drive on another computer if possible.
