Microsoft clearly states XP Activation WILL END April 8
Microsoft has just published their full agenda for ending support for
Windows XP, beginning April 8, 2014. Besides stopping all future updates, patches, and support for XP users, they intend to remove all past updates from their website, and will no longer provide their "activation" service for XP. Thus, no one will be able to install, or reinstall Windows XP after this date. Persons attempting to activate, will receive a message which reads: "Microsoft Windows XP has Expired, and is no longer Supported. Please purchase Microsoft Windows 8". It appears that any previously installed XP will continue to function, but can not be reinstalled if there is a drive or system failure.
