Default Pinning a folder to the taskbar

I would like to have a single folder pinned to the taskbar.
What I have now is explorer pinned. That works but I have to right
click and then pick the folder. I would like to be able to click on
the icon and go directly to that folder.

Can that happen? I have tried removing explorer and trying to pin a
shortcut but that doesn't work.

What I do is create a shortcut for a file in a folder, then edit the
Properties of the shortcut; clipping the file name.
Eg.
"C:\Users\Ed\My eBooks\Kafka\Kafka, Franz - Castle, The.pdf"
"C:\Users\Ed\My eBooks\Kafka"

This is how to do it. Adding explore and space to the path is the key.

Not quite the answer you to the question but you might want to consider
creating a Quick Launch toolbar instead. I like it a lot better.
You can copy, move, or shortcut almost anything to the QL bar.
The only problem is if you turn it off then you have to recreate it.
Even so, it retains your original shortcuts, etc.

Create a new tool bar and insert this for the folder name:
%AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
