You have 30 days to activate XP.
There is the activate by telephone option you can use. Pick it from the list
on the activation page and follow the instuctions.
First try to figure out the network problem, then you can do the online
activation.

Contact AOL for assistance with their software.
Use the activate by phone option to activate your copy of XP.

You might get some suggestions if you provided a little more information
than "I cannot get on the internet."

You can start by describing exactly how your computer is connected to
the Internet, including the make and model of the devices between your
computer and the wall jack and the connection between your computer and
such devices (e.g., Ethernet, USB, other).

Then describe in detail what happens when you try, including the steps
you take, what happens, and the complete text of any error messages you
receive.

The reason that you were advised to call AOL is that AOL uses
non-standard means of connecting to the Internet (at least the last I
knew, which admittedly is several years ago) and therefore standard
Windows troubleshooting is of little help. If AOL support can't help
you, you might seriously changing to another ISP.

First you need to get net access. Have you made sure that the drivers for
your network card are installed ?
Is Your AOL on dialup, DSL or Cable ?
wireless or hardwired network ?
You must be using a router if you have 2 other computers hooked up what
brand is it?
we need to know more

So your paying AOL for internet access and they won't help you fix your
problem, your paying them why?
Your issue is with AOL and their software, not Windows XP, this group is for
assistance with Windows XP issues, not AOL's bloated, crappy mess of an
application.

You call Microsoft to get your copy of XP activated.
