Problem with Wireless Network on 1 laptop
I have been banging my head on this problem for 2 weeks and am at my wits end. I changed to different virus protection package on one laptop and lost connectivity (limited or no connectivity message). Removed all signs of the software, still didn't resolve the problem. Attempted to restore back, only to find all points were corrupted. Fixed that problem, but have nothing to restore back to now. My environment Cable modem into Netgear Router. XP w/SP3 on 1 desktop & 3 laptops. No problems on any other machines - slight differences in each laptop, but for the most part set up the same. What I am seeing is that on all the laptops that are working, the assigned IP are in the 192. range, the one that doesn't work is in the 169 range. If I assign a static IP, I am able to connect to the network - see the shared files - but am not able to connect to the internet. Can someone please help! I'm in over my head and will need a little spoon feeding... |
