Password Entry
I am using Windows XP on my computer. I just put in a new
motherboard and CPU, everything else stayed the some. After reactivating it with Microsoft I am getting a screen requiring a user name and password. This is a screen I have never seen before and it comes before the normal password screen in windows, but it said Windows on it. I have never had a password and have no idea what to put in for a user ID or a password. Can anyone tell me how to make whatever change is meeded to get rid of the password request (reset it etc.). I need help ASAP since I can't get onto my computer and I have some important work that I need to do. Thanks for your help. Craig |

Jupiter, Thanks for the info, but the password that I am being asked for is coming before I even get into the Windows XP password phase. The screen has Windows XP printed on it, but I have never seen this type of a password screen before. It almost seem like it thinks that I haven't registered the system??? Craig |

Password Entry
Sounds like the NT log in box.
Type "Administrator" And use the password or leave password blank. Or enter another user name and the password. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/ wrote in message ... -----Original Message----- Something here should help: http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/lostpass.htm -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/ "atlcraig" wrote in message ...
